Torker BMX Factory Team History

The Torker BMX Factory Team has included an amazing amount of superstars. The Johnson family had an eye for talent. The First Big Name Torker Rider that never seems to be remembered is Kevin McNeal who rode the original Big Bike. The MX, which is what we named the MX26 and the MX29 after, while riding for Torker he became the California State Champion and won the NBA / Mongoose Grandnationals!

The MX was Big, and it made sense that a rider like Kevin was the rider riding it as he was a big guy and had a brutal style of riding, but in an effort to attain a more mass appeal, the new LP ( Low Profile ) frame was introduced in in 1978 and with that, a new Team and a few Team Model Variations.

With the new LP there came a new Team,  a few notables include:

Eddy King
Mikey King
Doug Olsen
Mike Aguilera
Patti Gammil
Jason Jensen
Clint MIller
Kathy Hannah
Doug Davis

Etc...

Later as the team progressed more riders were added, like ...

Kelly McDougal
Dave Marrietti

Later with a team revamp as Torker tried to make a strong push in the Mid 80's they added the Dynamic duo of the Twin Brothers in BMX of Mike Miranda and Tommy Brackens to try to fill the shoes that were emptied when the Barbarian Clint Miller Left,

Mike Miranda
Tommy Brackens
Craig Bark
Richie Anderson
Willie Huebner
Todd Corbitt
Jennie Zuener
Jason Foxe
Jason Theodore

On the Early Freestyle side, early pioneers of Freestyle such as Bob Haro, and Eddie Fiola helped lay the ground work even though they were not Officially sponsored Torker riders, but Martin Aparijo has the distribushment of being the original official FACTORY Freestyle rider, and he and Harold MacGruther designed the Freestylist Frame for him off of the frames that Bob and Eddie had been riding.

but we have tried to put together the definitive rider list below.

*Please note, this is going to be an ongoing history lesson, we are going to try to recognize and celebrate all of the Torker Factory Riders, there are many, and they all deserve credit for helping spread the word of Torker around the world. This is a partial story, and a will continue to evolve over time. Please check back often, if you have valuable information to add, please, let us know, we want this to be complete and comprehensive and represent Torker's history to the trueist form.
