Racing for the Factory Torker Team during its breakthrough period and helping earn the 1979 National #1 Factory title, Doug Davis was the kind of rider who made a team feel complete. Having discovered BMX in 1976, Doug quickly caught the attention of Sandy Finkelman and the famous Wheels & Things Bike Shop in San Diego, which helped him work his way into the factory ranks and onto Torker.

It was during these early years that Doug learned the foundation of what it meant to be a winner, a mindset and work ethic that would carry him through an amazing career in BMX. His presence was not just about winning races (although he did... OFTEN!); it was about showing up, racing hard, and helping Torker build its reputation during the sport's earliest, most exciting years.
Doug's racing contributed to the visibility and credibility Torker gained at major events and in BMX magazines as the sport expanded nationwide.

In recognition of his accomplishments on the track and his role in BMX's early growth, Doug Davis was inducted into the USA BMX Hall of Fame in 2017, honoring both his competitive success and his lasting impact on the sport.
