The 50 Year Anniversary Cruiser - 24" and 26" Frame and Fork
These are 100% recreations of the Torker Cruisers made famous by the one and only, Clint "The Barbarian" Miller. The 26" came first, in 1981. Then the 24" followed in 1982. Same twin top tubes, same 4130 chromoly, same show chrome, same 1" threaded fork.

The 26" started with a dealer. Mike McLaughlin of Mike's Bikes in St. Louis kept after Steve Johnson to build a Cruiser for adults, and John Johnson backed him up. Prototyping started in the summer of 1980. Clint Miller raced the first one at the NBA Supernationals in San Diego in April 1981 and won, his first race on the big wheeler. Steve told Bicycle Motocross Action they had never had a product "so immediately accepted as being so hot."

The 24" was Clint's bike from the start. It began as a scaled-down 26". Clint told Torker to shorten up the rear end and quicken the steering, and Torker built it. BMX Plus tested it in November 1982 and called it a race bike that is forgiving enough for the novice.

For our 50th year we are building both one more time. Welded near Fullerton, triple plated in show chrome in Santa Ana. A 100% California built bike, just down the road from where the originals came off the line.

Is it a one-time run? Yes. 50 frames total, 25 of the 26" and 25 of the 24". When they are gone, that's it.

When do they arrive? They are being welded now as you read this - and Due back from Chrome the First week of December.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many 50 Year Anniversary Cruisers are being made?
50 in total: 25 of the 26" Cruiser and 25 of the 24" Small Cruiser. Each has its own serial number. There will be no second batch.

Are these the same as the original Torker Cruisers?
Yes. They are 100% recreations of the 1981 26" Cruiser and the 1982 24" Twenty Four that Clint "The Barbarian" Miller made famous: twin top tubes, 4130 chromoly, show chrome and a 1" threaded fork.

Who was Clint Miller?
Torker's factory Pro, from San Dimas, California. He won the first race he ever rode the Torker Cruiser in, the NBA Supernationals in San Diego in April 1981, and the 24" was built to his request.

What do the "C" and "SC" serial numbers mean?
It is how Torker marked them in 1981 and 1982. "C" was the 26" Cruiser. "SC" was the Small Cruiser, the 24". The 26" frames run T5001C to T5025C and the 24" frames run T5001SC to T5025SC.

Why the twin top tubes?
It is the Torker trademark. The two 5/8" top tubes run past the seat tube and down to the rear dropouts, doing the job of a top tube and two seat stays. They resist twist and fight flex.

Where are the frames made?
100% in California. Welded near Fullerton, where Torker started in 1976, and triple plated in show chrome in Santa Ana.

What finishes are available?
Triple plated show chrome only.

Does it come with a fork?
Yes. Every frame comes with its matching 4130 chromoly leading-axle fork with a 1" threaded steerer. 21.1 I.D.

What else do I need to build it?
The frame and fork are included. You add a 1" threaded headset, an American bottom bracket (for 1-piece cranks), a 7/8" seat post, side-pull caliper brakes, plus stem, bars, chain, chainwheel, cog or freewheel, pedals, seat, wheels, tires and tubes.
