Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Torker 20" Freestylist?
A faithful reissue of the rarest Torker ever made — the 1984 Freestylist. Only about 75 were built originally in Fullerton, making it the most limited production frame of Torker's entire run. The modern version keeps the unique dual top tube freestyle DNA and adds modern specs: Mid BB shell, gyro tabs, and 1 1/8" threadless steertube with 990 fork mounts.
What's the story of the original 1984 Torker Freestylist?
In 1984, the Freestylist was developed with input from Alan's BMX UK Freestyle team. Only around 75 frames were produced — fewer than almost any Torker ever made. It represents one of the earliest purpose-built freestyle geometries from any major BMX brand, predating the mainstream freestyle boom. The reissue brings this rare piece back for the first time in 40 years.
What geometry does the 20" Freestylist have?
Modern freestyle geometry: 21.25" top tube, 14.25" chainstay, 11.625" BB height, 75.5° head angle. Mid BB shell. Designed for flat ground, park, and ramp. The steeper head angle gives quicker, more responsive handling than a race frame.
Does the frame have gyro tabs?
Yes. Gyro tabs are included so you can run a rotor/gyro cable setup for no-handed spinning tricks without tangling the brake cable.
What components do I need to build it?
Frame and fork are included (1 1/8" Freestylist 4130 Cro-mo heat-treated tapered-leg threadless forks with 990 mounts). You add: 1 1/8" threadless headset, front and rear 990 brakes, 25.4 seatpost, 28.6 seat clamp, plus stem, bars, cranks, BB, chain, chainwheel, cog, pedals, saddle, 20" wheelset, tires, tubes.
How limited is the 20" Freestylist production run?
Serial numbers run TF1001 through TF10025 — 25 frames. Triple Show Chrome only. When they're gone, that's it.
